The Real Estate Agent Reinvention
FROM A CONVERSATION WITH ELITE REAL ESTATE BROKER LOUISE PHILLIPS FORBES ON THE REINVENT YOURSELF PODCAST
She had a southern accent, wore a leotard and cowboy boots with holes in them. She even had a learning disability. Louise Phillips Forbes talks about how she used hard work, her “gift of gab,” and an incredible spacial memory to create a $200 million real estate business.
Louise’s Top Tips for Reinvention
1. One dream leads to another
I’m grateful that I have always followed my dream and not my wallet, because if you do what you love, the money will follow. I mean, I came to New York to dance – I did not think of myself as a businesswoman. And here I am, running a $200 million annual business.
2. Own who you are.
Celebrate it. You really need to own what makes you you. For me, I was Southern, and I was not a businesswoman. I didn’t feel the need to flex my muscles that way. But whatever the obstacles that I had, at some point, I realized they were blessings. And I didn’t actually know that at first.
3. Have faith in the process.
If I didn’t step into the unknown and just say yes, I wouldn’t know all these people that I know today that really impact who I am as a person today, through the privilege of being a part of their process.
