CoveyCommunity: Connect and Thrive Together
Are you as worn out and frustrated by this election as I am? I’m so disappointed that we didn’t get our first Madam President that I’m having trouble reorienting my brain. I am nervous about what is coming politically for women and girls–and especially for people of color and the most vulnerable among us–in the next few months and years.
I’m also concerned that the fact that Americans still refuse to trust a woman to lead the nation will translate unfairly into all of our lives–pushing women backwards into an old system that allowed for age or sex discrimination, unequal pay, job loss, lack of advancement. My main mission at CoveyClub has always been to support and advance women in whatever they want to do. I believe it serves the country economically, mentally, and helps the world stay more peaceful.
To that end, I’m opening up a Monday evening (6 PM ET) work group called CoveyComunity where we can talk about our frustrations, concerns, and issues and find ways for women to move forward together. We can read together, share research and sources, find ways to still give back that still reflect our individual values. These sessions will be frank and honest and NOT recorded. I really believe that times like this offer us all a moment to rethink, restart, reboot how and where we spend our time so that we can continue to stay relevant and impactful even in a rapidly changing environment. You have to be a CoveyClub member to join. See you on Monday!
